(( This is the continuation of This RP. Please read it first if you want to understand it. ))

After stepping through the portal, Vyllaea would glance at her form. Sighing, she would take the nearest corner to duck around it, stripping herself from her dress. In mere seconds, her form would take that of the long Siren-like figure. Her tail was long, unfurled, and her hands scooped up the, now, rather saturated dress. With an annoyed sigh, she would pass it to a guardian, getting them to look after it. Her spear, plus the dull coloured scales, made her seem quite intimidating, even if she wore basically... nothing...

When she turned back to him, Cedric gave an instruction and the water being would lower direction Vyllaea lead the group to the temple. Her form easily carried the weapon in her hand, the form now dwarfed by her long tail. Her head turned back to them, concerned by the lack of presence around them. "Cedric, are you sure that this was the way?" She asked him, only a keen observer would be able to pick up the hint of nervousness in her voice. Vyllaea rose a hand to the base of the spear, humming nervously.

One of the two smirked, "Getting cold feet are ya, GUARDIAN?"

"Your life could be in danger, I am merely making sure that there's nothing..." Her voice trailed off, her eyes narrowing a little as she looked into the distance.

Was that movement again? It wasn't just regular life, she recognised that... Or was it?

She shook her head. Vyllaea was never on guard like this. But those stupid travellers with their constant wandering away from the group, added with the fact that they were in dangerous waters just didn't help. The tall guy laughed at her again, and she turned to him, giving him a stern glare that made him stop, "Stay silent!" She commanded, her voice harsh.

Vyllaea looked to Cedric, her eyes gleaming, questioning if what she had seen was a sign of concern. He had earned her respect, and she didn't feel like he would give her false information.

Out here, the only one she remotely could trust was him.

Cedric could feel the Leviathan's eyes on the group. Even though they weren't truly there, the gaze of the beast somehow was conveyed regardless. Swallowing, the Paradigm stopped. Hoping the dread-filled look he gave Vyllaea was answer enough, he arced through the water to one of the Temple's Spires.

It was quiet. Too quiet. Nothing moved, no brightly colored fish, no Water-kin, no bottom feeders. Nothing. The entirety of the marine life was absent, and that was more than alarming. Closing his eyes, he cursed. He'd be useless here, in the water. Unless he wanted to fry his allies as well, he had to stay out of the fight if it broke out.

Waving at Vyllaea, he held up two fingers- the Leviathan had two limbs in sight. The left-side fore and hind paws. It was, indeed, slumbering. Hoping that she'd be able to see where he was pointing, the decayed scales of the beast would hopefully give her some semblance of knowledge as to where it was. The scales were the same as what he had brought from Maisen's death.

This was his killer.

A gargantuan Salamander, literally scaling and bones. The class C Leviathan was undead. Which gave hints as to its origin. The thought was strange for the Traveler, honestly

Vyllaea eyes locked with Cedric, reading the absolute horror on his face. She felt her mouth dry, his eyes closing, so she turned around to look, her long, serpentine body flicking nervously. Unfortunately for them both, they had stupid trackers with them, who were both thrill seekers. The taller one smirked, elbowing the other in the ribs. They passed between them whispered and hushed plans as Vyllaea continued to look around.

Movement caught her eyes and she looked back to Cedric, who held two fingers up. She nodded at the signal, her eyes going back to the leviathan. She made a hand gesture, for them to stay back. Carefully, she would begin to approach the beast. Ever so slow were her movements, trying not to disturb the beast as she drew so close!

"Vyllaea! Be careful over there!" One of the two idiots shouted as she was within a few feet of the creature. Her eyes widened as she tried to kick back from the beast. Its form was still asleep. But she chilled, realising what those two idiots were trying to do. Desperately, she made a gesture to Cedric to get them to shut up...

But it was too late.

"DON'T MISS THE HEART!" The other shouted at the top of their lungs. Vyllaea's head swung back to face it, her eyes wide before she would dive down. Her form ducked behind a rock, her tail acting like seaweed as she hid. The monsters eyeless form shifted, its head turning to the trio. Her heart skipped a beat.

It gave a muffled roar, it grotesque form shaking, pushing itself to its feet. It's four legs were barely skin and bone, parts of it falling away in the water. It only took it a moment to lunge towards its new prey. "I am fucking in charge of looking after you, even if you like it or not mate." The words rang in her mind as she shook her head, calming her racing heart. Cedric... The damn handsome fool was relying on her. Her eyes fell on the claw marks which tainted her tail... A smile cracked on her face as she looked up again. The beasts form drew closer to them. She wanted to let them die, she wanted them to suffer for trying to kill her. But it wasn't right! There were innocents! The monster soared overhead, and she could see panic on at least two of the travellers faces.

She had to ensure they got back alive!

The tail curled around in front of the rock and pushed away, propelling her through the water. She would reach them mere seconds before the leviathan and would spin her tail to knock the three over and away. She lowered her pronged spear, holding it firmly in place when the beast impaled its shoulder against it. It howled, pulling away slightly as Vyllaea held onto the weapon. Thankfully it would pull free and the beast looked at them again, snarling. "Cedric, you survived before. You know how this works!" She shouted, her fear over ruling her as she used the steel weapon to thrust against its face, trying to keep the massive snapping mouth away from them.

"Get them out." She told him, half asking the final request. Vyllaea would glance over her shoulder, giving him a defeated smile. She would look to him, but her eyes burnt in determination. She told him she was in charge of looking after him.

That's exactly what she was going to do.

This woman, this GUARDIAN lashed out with her tail, sending Cedric into another part of the Temple's spire. The two idiotic trackers screamed the entire time, but he refused to. He knew better than to upset the beast further, especially when he was just saved by a woman who had a better figure than an hourglass.. for a fish.

Not only no, but hell no.

Lightning sent the water around the Paradigm into a boil, the other two being propelled away. Anger coursed through Cedric's veins, his hair lifting from the sheer amount of energy he was calling up. Knowing better than to just discharge his lightning, he lifted a hand up towards the Leviathan.

"No."

The jackasses gave him a look, and he returned it with a snarl distorting his face. "YOU FILTHY MONGRELS. You don't even know what you've fucking done. If I weren't bound by law to save you I'd fry your bodies for the carcass to feast on. Get your useless asses out of here while Vyllaea and I save your asses you ungrateful CURS!" More energy coursed through him, the light from his eyes removing his pupils entirely. It was hard not to give in to his emotion, but if he did he'd pay hell for it. "MOVE."

They were scrambling over themselves to get into the Temple and away from the fight. Returning his attention to the over-sized corpse of a salamander, Cedric raised his other hand to join in the fireworks. Forming a triangle with his indexes and thumbs, the Paradigm bared his teeth.

"Don't get in the way!"

"No."

Vyllaea felt a growl build up in her chest, was that man SERIOUS? What the hell did he think he was going to do! He was a bloody bird man, for crying out loud! She glanced behind her, only for her attention to be stripped back to the creature as it lunged forward again, closing the distance between herself and it with an incredible speed. Vyllaea cried out in surprise, the beasts agitation growing from the noise. Her spear slammed through the creatures mouth once again, the iron slashing through the skin with ease. However, the pain didn't stop it or cause it to reel backwards, the momentum keeping forward. That being said, Vyllaea refused to budge.

The spear, with the weight of the beast behind it, would tear through its jaw, striking near its chest. It would jerk its head up, freeing its skull from the metal weapon and slamming it straight into Vyllaea. She used her claws to stab straight down into the creature, trying to cause it any amount of pain to keep it distracted. It threw its head back, before rolling in the water to throw her away. Which it did, sending her into a spire. She heard Cedric yell to move, but her side ached from the impact of the spire that it threw her into.

But she still did so, pushing herself to an upright position. Gritting her teeth, she stared into its hollow eyes as it approached Cedric, but something was wrong. His eyes were white, a triangle having formed with his fingers. She blinked. What the hell was he doing?!

"Don't get in the way!"

The beast drew closer to Cedric, having 'disposed' of the first threat.

"GET OUT OF THERE, CEDRIC!"

The beasts maw was wide, strips of flesh hanging from the roof of its mouth. Serrated teeth as long as his arms dotted the beasts jaws, prepared to shred him apart. The beast's eyes were fleshy, not at all there. Scales dotted the beasts body, and a smirk made its way across Cedric's face.

"That's right. Have a nice bite to eat."

The beast's jaws clamped around him, the decayed and shriveled tongue crushing through the bricks of the Temple he stood on. The masonry was no match for the beast's jaw.

Screaming, Cedric unleashed the power of Odin's Eye. Pure, unadulterated electricity exploded from his body as the beast swallowed him, and the Paradigm had timed it to be just before the heart.

A shriek came from the beast, internals frying from the amount of energy Cedric was expelling. More and more came from him, until he was sure the twitches the Leviathan had were just from the electrical pulses he gave off. The energy died down as the Leviathan's body came to rest on the ocean floor. Unable to stand, Cedric limply stood in the rotted stomach of the beast.

"For fucks sake, I'm tired of this.. shit.."

Falling, he couldn't help but wonder what that must've looked like from the outside.

WHY WAS HE SMIRKING?!

The thoughts tore from her mind, her eyes wide with horror. No! Not again! She wouldn't fail her orders! Grasping the spire with her tail, she pulled herself in a more upright stance, claws at the ready as she would throw herself forward.

Thank goodness she didn't get time for the last action.

Out from the beast was a horrifying scream, one that chilled Vyllaea to the core. But her face fell for a few moments, thinking that he truly was killed by that beast. But the next few moments would prove her utterly wrong. The beast uttered a blood-curdling shriek, lightning bounding across the surface of its skin. Every single inch that the lightning would touch burnt the beast, its heart seizing in agony. Uncontrolled, it struck the beast, time and time again, charring its form. Its howl faltered as the electricity struck across its back.

Not once would it have stood a chance in the fireworks composedĀ of pure electricity. A rather gruesome yet brilliant display of power. Was this his plan?

The corpse faltered, falling on its knees, then to its side, remaining emotionless. Heart in her throat, the water creature began to swim towards the truly dead carcass. "Cedric! CEDRIC?!" She shouted, ignoring the faint tingling of the remaining electricity. She flinched at the feeling of it, however, and the burning flesh sending vivid pictures through her mind. Vyllaea shuddered at the memories, bringing her claws up above the creatures' throat. Was the bird man alive?

Hesitating, she grabbed it instead between her hands, squeezing the tube. She followed it to its stomach, her heart hammering in her chest. Her claws would impale through its skin and she grunted at the toughness of the hide. She would tear section after section away, growling to herself as tears stung her eyes.

"Cedric! You stupid bird man, are you alright?!" She called out again, not hearing an answer from him. For a reason she couldn't comprehend, she felt herself freeze, feeling herself shaking from a paralysing fear. The claws finally broke through the lining of the stomach, and she grunted, prying and tearing it apart.

She would have vomited there and then from nerves as the waters bent before her, forcing the edges of the stomach apart further, unable to see in there. Her mind gave her vivid images of a bloodied figure, warped and slashed to an unrecognisable state...

Stupid. STUPID bird man!

But her furious gaze glanced to the two other astonished travellers, hiding behind a rock. "TELL THEM IT'S DEAD!" She roared, the tone of her voice terrifying. Their forms withdrew, and she returned herself back to trying to find the stupid man, who she had to admit had the most amusing sense of humour. The one man she knew with the death wish. Don't you be dead...

Grunting, Cedric fell forward. The hole in the stomach had made a slight current somehow, casting his body into the sand on the ocean's floor. Man, he felt like he just got beaten by a bunch of angry people with socks full of bricks.

Rubbing his head, his headache was a dull throb. Odin's eye couldn't be used again for a while after expelling that much energy... He'd have to eat again to make up for the loss. Shaking himself out of his reverie, the Paradigm stood up. For whatever reason, Vyllaea had ripped into the outer lining of the Leviathan's gut. Her dagger-like nails were coated in the flesh and gore, which was both chilling and interesting to Cedric. Hm. Her mouth had moved, directed at the two fuck-ups that had nearly destroyed the Temple of Fractures entirely.

"I'm surprised they're not being jailed yet...."

Rubbing the back of his head, the Traveler offered an apologetic smile to his Guardian. "Sorry about that, but.. If I just threw my lightning in the water willy-nilly without a conduit.. You would've been hurt beyond any repair. I couldn't afford to apologize for that, so." Shrugging, he felt the headache come back. He couldn't stop the groan that came from his lips, nor the immediate instinct to hold his head over the spot where his talisman sh-

"Oh gods.."

Realizing the issue, he frantically looked around, desperate to find the rune-marked piece of equipment. With disgust, he reached into the decayed beasts stomach to retrieve it. As it had left his person, the Shard's protection no longer aided it.. And it was disgusting now. Sighing, he would have to deal with it as he covered his left eye, pinning the piece in place.

"That's what I get for using that, then..."

Vyllaea couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief to see him alive. Her heart felt as if a thousand weights had suddenly been cut free. She felt her face pale when she saw Cedric's face though. The eyepatch he wore was gone, freed, instead...

She turned away suddenly, her eyes wide as her heart hammered in her chest. The eyes... Bright cyan... Her tail curled underneath her, resting against it slightly as Cedric would pull the thing back across the eye. Vyllaea couldn't bring herself to look at him for a few moments afterwards... It was nothing against him, the bright eyes were a close match to the white ones of her youth. Her damn adopted father...

Vyllaea glanced back at him, feeling an anger brew inside her again. "That's what you get? That's all you're going to say...? You could have DIED Cedric!" Her voice rose as she continued to speak, "Why did you do that-that wasn't your task?"

Blinking, he was aware of the Siren shouting at him. Anger brewed in his chest, exhaustion fueling the flames. Damn was she an ingrate! He didn't have the sterner stuff in him to make any more energy, and instead sighed.

"Yes, I could've died. Not very grateful are you?" Hissing in pain, he rubbed at his temples. The curse was stronger now that Odin's eye had been used, and it wasn't making things easier on him. "I did it because if we didn't, the beast could've done more damage than... Than it already had done. We have.. To tell the Council about it... Not from the Lair... Those two.. Incident..."

It was too hard for the man to speak, and he had to crouch down before he vomited. Things weren't going okay. Muttering to himself, he cussed about the curse that had him at such odds with this woman! If she just made it easier to not respond, he'd be fine gods damn it! But... She genuinely cared. Most Guardians would've given up on him, going to the Council about the Leviathan first.

Swallowing bile, Cedric kept his left hand over his eye. The reaction she had given him before he had put the talisman back on wasn't missed by the Paradigm, which caused a bit of worry. Taking a deep breath, he gave her an apologetic glance. "Sorry." Hopefully the short word would be enough for her to go off of, as Cedric took hold of one of the decayed beasts teeth- careful not to cut himself on it. All of his energy was going into healing off the radiation, and he couldn't spare much for an injury. The jaw gave him the proof easily. Kicking off from the floor, he began to swim for the Temple. "Can't stay long."

She felt anger flush her face, a growl wanting to build in her chest again. Yes. He could have died. That's what I have the issue with Cedric! I didn't want you to die out there!

The thought caused her anger to stop for a few moments. The anger crumpled on her face and he continued to speak. Every single word he said was truthful. Every single word was correct, however, his sentence became drawn out, elongated. She frowned, something wasn't right...

It was only a few moments later after she had thought that did the man curl over and vomit, and she turned away to at least give him some sort of privacy. Her eyes locked onto the weapon that she used and her finger curled around the cold steel handle. With a gentle tug, it was released from the corpse of the leviathan. She investigated it for damage, noting the damage from the creature moving its head in such a way that it bent the handle. Badly. She sighed, before turning back to Cedric. He slowly pushed himself back up.

"Can't stay long." Were the only words which he spoke before kicking away from the beast... Vyllaea frowned, he had acted this way before, and he lacked the energy to really speak or do anything... But why?

The reason why hit her like a slap in the face, and her tail pushed her away from the floor bed and she would gently take his hand in hers. "Please excuse me for this, probably unwanted, contact... But I'm a hell of a lot faster than you at swimming..." She trailed off. Vyllaea would then wait for any objections to be noted, before curling the waters around her. Her tail lashed suddenly out to streamline behind her, and she held Cedric's arm next to her, "Try stay close." She would advise before her form would cut through the water.

If one were to look back, they would note that she ditched her weapon to get this man back for some sort of help. And that help came in the form of food.

He was jerked away from the Levaithan, Vyllaea's grip like a vise around his arm. He was too weak to complain, and instead went limp as they sliced through the water. Even though she had talons, Cedric felt no puncture for him to bleed from. This thought was curious, as it meant she had pretty good control over herself. It was noted that her weapon was lost, which made the urge for him to buy her a new one come into being.

Damn this curse. What he would give to thank her, and not feel the urge to claw his face away to relieve the pressure it would put on his head. But, no, he was damned to be aloof from those that could give him a family. Until the day he died.

Swallowing back more bile, the world around Cedric went by in a haze of color. The Temple of Fractures' portal lead to the Glacial City. More vibrant colors passed in a dizzying kaleidoscope of patterns before him. Really didn't help with his urge to vomit if he were being honest. The speed she was going was astounding, he'd reached faster only in dives and aided flight. Curious, really. What else did this woman hide? Her smile was gorgeous and bright, but quickly doused with her own icy attitude. Why? What had happened that locked away any form of happiness from this woman?
